Body Mechanics/Self Care for LMT's
Body Mechanics & Self Care = Career Longevity
Service Description
LMT's! If you want a long and successful career, this class will be one of the most important for you this year. Knowing anatomy, physiology, pathology, massage and bodywork techniques are not enough in a physically demanding hands-on profession. As caregivers, we must first take care of the "giver" - and that is YOU, the massage and bodywork therapist. If your body mechanics are not on point, you may get hurt or have a short-lived career as a therapist. If caring for your own needs and following your own self-care plan is a challenge, how would you expect your clients to follow your guidance? As health care providers - which massage and bodywork therapists are - we owe it to ourselves to be sure we are meeting our own needs, honoring our own bodies, minds and souls, so we can inspire our clients to do the same. And let's face it, we are all unique individuals with unique needs and sometimes we are so busy meeting other's needs, we forget to really understand what we need for our own career longevity plan. In this class, we will assess and tweak your body mechanics, discuss self-care options that will work for you, sort through what is no longer serving you as a therapist and get you back on track to treat clients for the long term. You can have a long career as a massage and bodywork therapist. I have known countless therapists doing this beautiful healing work for 20, 30, 40 and more years. All because they absolutely put body mechanics, self-care and personal wellbeing first. You can too! Note: NCBTMB only accepts four (4) CEs per renewal period in the Self Care Category. The Body Mechanics portion of the class is hands-on, so bring your table and hands-on supplies, wear comfortable layered clothing for a hands-on exchange and evaluation, be prepared to actively participate in order to level up your massage and bodywork skills! This class will be hosted by Zen Landing Wellness Studio, 4450 Black Horse Pike, Mays Landing, on Monday, June 1, 2026, 9:30 a.a. - 4:30 p.m. 6 CE hours for LMT’s.
