Foot Reflexology: Intro & Basics (LMT's)

Service Description

The ancient art of foot reflexology is a fascinating tool for Licensed Massage and Bodywork Therapists to add to your toolbox of service offerings because the client remains clothed, can be seated or inclined on the table with only their feet exposed to receive these amazing and simple techniques. With approximately 200,000 nerve endings in each foot and scientifically proven correlations to the other structures and internal organs of the body, the effects of a foot reflexology session are the same as a full body massage and bodywork session. Although there are countless foot reflexology techniques that you can learn and certifications you can take to become a true “reflexologist,” this class will introduce you to some basic techniques that you can use daily, either integrated into a Swedish or other massage session, or offered as a stand-alone service for those clients who may not otherwise entertain a standard massage session. Because they remain clothed, learning these techniques can open up another client population for your – those who otherwise are not interested in Swedish massage. This class is hands-on, so bring your table and hands-on supplies, plus 1-2 pillows, 4 hand towels, a throw blanket, wear comfortable clothing for a hands-on exchange and practice. Be prepared to actively participate in order to level up your massage and bodywork therapy skills!
